It is strongly recommended that coxswains familiarize themselves with the course and the Regatta Rules
COXSWAINS TOUR

COXSWAINS CLINIC FOR STEERING THE HEAD OF THE CHARLES
Learn to strategically approach the obstacles and real race scenarios of the Head Of The Charles Regatta course in the 5th annual "How to Cox the Perfect Head Race" clinic, presented by Yaz Farooq, World Champion and 8-time U.S. National Team cox John Lambert, chief of the Rules and Appeals Committee, and Tom Tiffany, former Race Operations Co-Chair. The clinic will include video examples shot from the coxswain's seat in head racing scenarios, and maps explaining challenging scenarios on the HOCR racecourse. Coxswains, coaches, and rowers steering blind boats are encouraged to attend. Clinic will start on time and will last approximately 90 minutes.

12:00 noon “How to Cox the Perfect Head Race” coxswain clinic led by Yaz Farooq
Location: Laviettes Pavilion at Harvard University’s Murr Athletic Center, 65 North Harvard Street, Boston, MA (near Anderson Bridge).
Cost $15

River Tour, Friday October 19th, 1:45 PM
Departs:Newell Boathouse. Returns to FALS.
ALL participants will disembark at the Finish Area Launch Site NOT Newell Boathouse

Preference on the boat will be given to novice coxswains. Parents and returning coxswains and scullers may be asked to stay on shore. Please abide by this request.
Cost $5 (free to clinic attendees).

Saturday, October 20th, 8:00 AM
"How to Cox the Perfect Head Race” coxswain clinic (no river tour) led by Yaz Farouk
Time, Location, and Cost to be announced. Location: Tennis Courts, Nichols Athletic Center, Buckingham, Browne & Nichols School, 80 Gerry’s Landing Road (across from Cambridge Boat Club)
Cost $15

Saturday, October 20th, 4:00 PM: "Cutting it Close" - Led by Tom Tiffany Location: Tennis Courts, Nichols Athletic Center, Buckingham, Browne & Nichols School, 80 Gerry's Landing Road (across from Cambridge Boat Club)
Cost: $10
River Tour, Saturday October 20th, 5:00 PM (or immediately following the end of racing)
Departs: Cambridge Boat Club. Returns to FALS.

As daylight is limited, please arrive as timely as possiblle. The River Tour will begin promptly at 5:00 PM or, if racing has not yet finished, after the last race.
