GET INVOLVED: VOLUNTEERS

 

Thank you for your interest in volunteering to make this year’s Head Of The Charles® a success! The 47th Head Of The Charles Regatta will take place on Saturday, October 22 and Sunday, October 23, 2011. There are many opportunities to get involved over race weekend and before.

***Thank you very much for your interest in volunteering. All volunteer shifts for 2011 have been filled. Please check back in August 2012 for next year's volunteer registration.***

Race Weekend: A Guide for Volunteers
All volunteers should receive specific directions from their committee co-chairs on when they should arrive and where they should meet in advance of onsite arrival Regatta weekend. Please be sure that you have communicated with your co-chair and are confident arriving onsite. Below, please find general volunteer information. Note: This information may not apply to all committees or all shifts.

Volunteer Tent and Check-In Location:
Behind the Rowing & Fitness Expo Tent at the Finish Area Launch Site (FALS) off Soldiers Field Road. On the map below, it is marked with a green tent icon.

Hours:
Friday, October 21: Noon - 6PM
Saturday, October 22: 6AM - 6PM
Sunday, October 23: 6AM - 3PM

Parking & Shuttles:
Parking is extremely limited. Information on available parking and shuttles HERE.

On the Volunteer Sign-Up form you will find many Committees, all looking for different skills. Please take a couple of minutes to read about each committee before applying. While the committees are grouped according to a volunteers’ racing/rowing experience, these are only suggestions. Please look at all the committee descriptions to find the one that best matches your abilities!

FALS = Finish Area Launch Site. This site is where all the trailers carrying eights and fours will park and launch from. The Rowing and Fitness Expo and Registration will also be located in this area.

SADL = Singles and Doubles Launch site. Smaller boats will launch from Magazine Beach.
