Volunteer Code of Conduct

By being accepted as a Head Of The Charles Volunteer, your primary responsibility to the Head Of The Charles and to your fellow volunteers is to adhere to certain guidelines for conduct.

We expect every volunteer to:

  • Conduct themselves in a manner that demonstrates a friendly, responsible, welcoming, and respectful representative of the Head Of The Charles and of our volunteer corps.
  • Treat everyone fairly, regardless of gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, religion, political belief, or economic status.
  • Respect the dignity of the competitors and all other volunteers; refrain from public criticism of competitors or other volunteers.
  • Refrain from the use of profane, insulting, harassing or otherwise offensive language while volunteering.
  • Abstain from the use of drugs, alcohol and tobacco products before or during your volunteer shift.
  • Abide by the instructions and guidelines given to you by your HOCR Committee Co-Chair.
  • Report any incident to the HOCR Office that might be contrary to these Volunteer Standards of Conduct.

Any volunteer who violates this Code of Conduct may lose the opportunity to volunteer for the Head Of The Charles.
